We are delighted to provide a community based Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) service, currently based in Midway Medical & Walk-In Centre in Newcastle-under-Lyme. This is a nurse-led service which has successfully reduced the number of patients attending A&E as well as improving the patient journey. Patients are referred by their own GP surgery and attend a timed appointment where they are assessed and a Doppler Scan may be organised and / or antithrombotic treatment commenced.
